Scrapbook - David King

Scrapbook contains pages from Volume One of a series of scrapbooks begun in the 1960s. First in London, then in New York and continuing in San Francisco.

The contents were cut or torn from magazines or found blowing down the street. Also included are a few of my editorial illustrations. Some personal photos complete the collection.

Many of the earliest pieces come from a golden age of editorial photography and illustration, when newspapers first published a colour supplement on Sundays.

This edition ends with a photo of my childhood home. A very black and white beginning to an obsession with so many colourful images.
